'Single's Inferno 4' Star Lee Sian Sued: “A Deceptive Act Against the Company and Producers”

Lee Si-an, a model currently starring in Netflix's 'Single's Inferno 4' and known for her participation in 'Produce 48,' has been sued for allegedly breaching her exclusive contract.

On January 21, Leaders Entertainment issued an official statement saying, “Lee Si-an has unilaterally terminated her exclusive contract, violating its terms. We are pursuing legal action.” The agency elaborated that it had been managing Lee since August 2023 and had formally extended her contract.

“In April 2023, discussions about her appearance on 'Single's Inferno 4' began, leading to the signing of an addendum in which her contract—set to expire on October 25, 2023—was extended by 18 months. This agreement was reached after thorough discussions with Lee and her parents. In May 2023, she signed the 'Single's Inferno 4' appearance contract and completed filming in June. However, immediately after filming concluded in August, she suddenly expressed her intention to terminate the exclusive contract. Through a representative, she conveyed that she would only continue her activities until October 21.”

Reports suggest that Lee is seeking to nullify the contract. Leaders Entertainment countered, stating, “Her actions breach both the original contract and the extended agreement. Her objections lack valid grounds. We have gathered substantial evidence and are proceeding with legal measures. Lee’s abrupt termination after appearing on 'Single's Inferno 4' disregards her contractual obligations, misleading both the company and the program's production team. We will take steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.”

Meanwhile, 'Single's Inferno 4,' which premiered on January 14, is Netflix's latest dating reality show where singles stranded on a remote island, called "Inferno," must become a couple to escape. Lee Si-an is one of the female contestants on the show. She is a former K-pop trainee who gained recognition through Mnet's survival programs 'Idol School' (2017) and 'Produce 48' (2018).
