G-Dragon and Jung Hyung-don have finally reunited in the highly anticipated MBC variety show 'Good Day', set to premiere on February 16.
A first teaser for the show was released, sparking excitement among fans. In the teaser, G-Dragon is seen nervously waiting at a restaurant before breaking into a bright smile as he spots Jung Hyung-don outside. He runs to greet him and says, “It’s been 11 years already. Hyung is still so adorable,” showcasing the chemistry they first shared on the iconic MBC variety show 'Infinite Challenge'.
Fans flooded social media with emotional reactions to the teaser, saying, “This feels like 'Transit Love' meets 'Single’s Inferno' for me,” and “Both of them endured tough times, and seeing them reunite now feels incredibly touching.”
G-Dragon and Jung Hyung-don’s friendship dates back to 2011 when they first met on 'Infinite Challenge'’s Music Festival Dinner Show. Their unique dynamic, often marked by playful banter about G-Dragon’s fashion, was a fan favorite. In 2013, the duo formed the team “Hyung-Don-Jiong” and released the hit song “Going to Try” at the 'Infinite Challenge' Freedom Road Music Festival, earning immense love from fans. Their chemistry even won them the Best Couple Award at the 2013 MBC Entertainment Awards.
In 'Good Day', Jung Hyung-don—often called G-Dragon’s "favorite hyung(Brother)"—makes his first appearance in a show produced by Kim Tae-ho, the mastermind behind Infinite Challenge and Hangout with Yoo. The program follows G-Dragon as he collaborates with a wide range of figures to create this year’s signature song in a unique music project.
The star-studded lineup for Good Day includes Defconn, Jo Se-ho, SEVENTEEN’s BSS unit, aespa, actors Kim Soo-hyun, Hwang Jung-min, Jung Hae-in, and chef An Sung-jae.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon has been gearing up for his solo comeback. He released the pre-release track “POWER” in October and followed it with “HOME SWEET HOME” in December. He also made a grand return to the 2024 MAMA Awards after nine years, performing with BIGBANG. Fans hailed his return, saying, “The king of MAMA is back,” and “Finally, K-pop’s golden standards are being restored.”
G-Dragon’s MAMA performance video became the event’s most-watched clip, recording 17.47 million views as of January 21.
