Song Hye-kyo’s Transformation for Black Nuns
On January 20, actress Song Hye-kyo attended the press screening of her new movie Black Nuns at Megabox Coex in Gangnam, Seoul, alongside director Kwon Hyuk-jae and co-stars Jeon Yeo-been, Lee Jin-wook, and Moon Woo-jin. The film, which follows a group of people performing forbidden rituals to save a boy possessed by a powerful demon, showcases a never-before-seen side of Song.
Playing the determined and fearless Sister Yunia, Song Hye-kyo steps into a bold role that required her to break personal boundaries. Jeon Yeo-been stars as Sister Michaela, who decides to assist Yunia despite the chaos surrounding them.
For the first time in her career, Song portrays a character who smokes. Addressing the media, she said, “This was my first time performing a smoking scene. As a non-smoker, I was initially hesitant, but I realized it was essential for Sister Yunia’s character.”
The actress revealed that she began practicing six months before filming started. “The first scene required me to smoke, and I didn’t want it to look fake. While I worked hard on my acting, I also spent a lot of time learning how to smoke for the role,” she added.
Release Date
Black Nuns will hit theaters on January 24, promising an intense and haunting story of faith, sacrifice, and redemption. Fans are eager to see Song Hye-kyo in this transformative role.
