Actor Son Suk-ku (41) is set to guest on JTBC’s variety show Chef & My Fridge (also known as Please Take Care of My Refrigerator), where top chefs compete in high-stakes culinary showdowns. The news, reported by TV Daily on January 14, has fans eagerly anticipating the reveal of what’s inside Son’s fridge.

Returning for its second season after five years, Chef & My Fridge invites guests to bring their refrigerators to the studio, where renowned chefs craft dishes in just 15 minutes using its contents. The season premiere, which aired on December 15, achieved a 2.9% rating among the key 20-49 demographic, making it the most-watched debut episode for any JTBC variety show since 2021 (Nielsen Korea, metropolitan area).

The show features original chefs Lee Yeon-bok, Choi Hyun-seok, Kim Poong, and Jung Ho-young competing against challenger chefs Edward Lee, Choi Kang-rok, Lee Mi-young, and Park Eun-young, delivering a gripping culinary showdown that has captivated audiences.

Son Suk-ku appeared on JTBC's Movie Room in 2022, where he was seen indulging in the infamous Squid Game snack that went viral, 'Dalgona'. As fans reacted with enthusiasm to see his appearance on a variety show, the Chef & My Fridge episode featuring Son Suk-ku is said to have already created a lot of buzz among viewers.

In addition to his variety show appearance, Son Suk-ku will star alongside Kim Hye-ja, Lee Jung-eun and Han Ji-min in the upcoming JTBC drama More Beautiful Than Heaven, slated to premiere in April.

The drama is a supernatural romance about a protagonist who, after passing away, reunites with loved ones in heaven. Kim Hye-ja plays Hae-sook, a woman who passes away in her 80s and reconnects with meaningful people from her life in the afterlife. Son Suk-ku takes on the role of her heavenly spouse, delivering a cross-generational love story that transcends life and death.

While More Beautiful Than Heaven will air in April, the filming of Chef & My Fridge (or Please Take Care of My Refrigerator) is scheduled to take place earlier.
