The international couple affectionately call each other ‘Yeobo,' a Korean term of endearment meaning 'honey.’
Actor Song Joong-ki recently revealed the affectionate couple nickname he uses to call his British wife, Katy Louise Saunders.
On the 5th, Song appeared as a guest on the episode of JTBC’s 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator Since 2014' and shared the endearing names the couple uses for each other. During the show, host Kim Sung-joo asked if he and his wife had special nicknames, to which Song responded, "My wife chose it, and we call each other ‘Yeobo’ [a Korean term of endearment meaning ‘honey’]."
The choice of the Korean nickname by the international couple has a touching backstory. Song explained that Katy was captivated by the way "Yeobo" sounded in Korean, describing it as "beautiful" and deciding to adopt it as their term of endearment—a revelation that charmed the audience.
The couple is currently raising two children, a son and a daughter. While Song remains in Korea for filming and promotional activities, Katy and the children are reportedly in Rome.
In December, Song shared details about their living arrangements, saying, "In Korea, we live in Itaewon, and in Italy, we live in the countryside near Tuscany, on the outskirts of Rome. It’s wonderful. My wife has lived in Italy her whole life, so when I’m not working, we stay in Italy."
Song also spoke about Katy learning Korean, praising her language skills and efforts to connect with his mother. "She’s seriously good at languages and is learning Korean quickly," he said. Song could not hid his admiration for his wife and offering a glimpse into their joyful newlywed life.
