Jung Woo-sung’s Scandal: Paternity Admission Sparks Outrage as Silence on Private Life Fuels Speculation
Actor Jung Woo-sung continues to face mounting scrutiny over his private life following paternity revelations. Despite the growing controversies, his agency, Artist Company, has maintained a reserved stance.
On December 22, Moon Ga-bi revealed on social media that she had given birth to a son, stating, “I’ve found the courage to embrace a simpler happiness as a mother.” While she shared a photo of herself holding her child, she did not disclose details about her marital status, fueling curiosity.
Two days later, Dispatch reported that the child’s father is Jung Woo-sung. On December 26, Artist Company confirmed the report, stating, “The child Moon Ga-bi revealed on social media is indeed Jung Woo-sung’s biological son. Discussions regarding the best parenting approach are ongoing, and he intends to fulfill his responsibilities as a father.”
The agency revealed that Jung Woo-sung and Moon Ga-bi met at a private gathering in 2022 and grew close, leading to her pregnancy in June 2023. While Jung reportedly supported her through the pregnancy and childbirth in March 2024, the two were not formally dating or engaged.
However, the paternity admission was only the beginning. Controversy deepened when screenshots of Instagram direct messages (DMs) allegedly sent by Jung Woo-sung to non-celebrity women surfaced online. In one exchange, the sender, believed to be Jung, initiated the conversation with a compliment, saying, “You have an amazing profession.” When the recipient questioned the authenticity of the account, he replied, “I saw your feed and admired your work. I hesitated but decided to greet you.”
The DMs also included an offer to exchange phone numbers, with the sender expressing interest in continuing the conversation. Following these revelations, other women came forward, claiming to have received similar messages from Jung Woo-sung, further fueling the controversy.
Additionally, rumors emerged of Jung being in a long-term relationship with another non-celebrity woman during the time of Moon Ga-bi’s pregnancy. A photo booth picture of Jung with the alleged partner was leaked online, adding to the speculation.
In response, Artist Company stated, “We cannot confirm details regarding personal exchanges on social media as they fall under the actor’s private life.” Efforts by WikiTree to obtain further comments from the agency were unsuccessful.
On November 29, Jung made a public appearance at the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards in Yeouido, where he served as both a presenter and a recipient of the Audience Choice Award. During his speech, he addressed the controversies, saying, “I stand here with the hope that my personal matters do not tarnish the film 12.12 The Day and the efforts of everyone involved in it. I deeply apologize for the concern and disappointment I’ve caused to those who have supported and believed in me.”
He concluded with a commitment: “I will take full responsibility for the criticism directed at me, and as a father, I will fulfill my duties to my son.”
As Jung Woo-sung continues to avoid confirming or denying other allegations about his private life, public attention remains fixed on his next steps and whether he can regain the trust of his audience.
