Jeon Jong-seo Slammed for Instagram Post Amid National Mourning—What Happened?

Actress Jeon Jong-seo deleted a recent social media post after it drew criticism.

On the 30th, Jeon shared an update on her Instagram with the caption, “Another day of filming...” alongside photos.

One photo featured a selfie of her smiling brightly while sitting in a car, while another included a cryptic message: “I know, you’re tired of loving what you love, and of not having anyone to love. If something real grabs hold of you, you’ll drown—you’ll fall in love.”

The post quickly became the subject of heated debate among netizens. Critics argued that it was inappropriate to share casual updates during the national mourning period declared after the Muan Airport tragedy. Comments included, “This post doesn’t suit the national mourning period,” and “She should refrain from such updates for now.” Others, however, defended her, stating, “Mourning shouldn’t be forced,” and “Are people expected to stop living their lives?”

Perhaps in response to the backlash, Jeon Jong-seo has since deleted the post.

Meanwhile, on the morning of the 29th, a tragic incident occurred at Muan International Airport. At 9:03 a.m., Jeju Air Flight 7C2216 from Bangkok, Thailand, crashed into the outer wall of the airport while attempting to land, resulting in an explosion. Of the 181 passengers on board, only two crew members survived, with all 179 passengers losing their lives.
