Song Joong-ki ❤️ Katy: 'Too Good for Me,' Says the Devoted Father, Sharing Why His Wife Scolded Him

Actor Song Joong-ki recently opened up about his family, proudly sharing stories about his wife and children. On December 26, the YouTube channel '@helloChoiHwajung' posted a video explaining “Two Weeks After Having a Daughter! Latest Updates on Song Joong-ki, Married in Italy (Honeymoon Home, Wife Appreciation),” where Song revealed a glimpse into his family life.

During the show, host Choi Hwa-jung congratulated Song on the birth of his daughter. Song, beaming with joy, responded, “It’s been about two weeks. My kids and wife are in Rome, and I’m here for filming. I miss them so much.”

When asked where he currently resides, Song explained, “In Korea, we live in Itaewon, and in Italy, we stay in the Tuscan countryside near Rome. It’s amazing. My wife has lived in Italy her whole life, so when I’m not filming, we spend time there.” shared the challenges of raising a multilingual child, saying, “My child speaks Italian, and there are times I can’t understand her. It’s a bit stressful, so I’m studying Italian. My wife, on the other hand, is learning Korean and is incredibly talented at picking it up. She even says things like, ‘Mother, let’s eat’ to my mom. It’s not perfect, but isn’t that just adorable?”

Song also praised his wife’s character, sharing, “She values manners and integrity more than I do, even though I’m Korean. She often scolds me. One time, my manager briefly waited to hand me something, and after he left, she said, ‘Who do you think you are to keep someone waiting?’”

On her culinary skills, Song gushed, “Thanks to her, I’ve fallen in love with Italian food. Am I sounding like a doting husband? Maybe, but I have to brag. Her mother is Colombian, so she can make Colombian dishes, and her father is British, so she can cook British food. Having lived in Italy her entire life, she’s incredible at Italian cuisine.”

He added a sweet anecdote about her Korean cooking, saying, “One of her best friends from high school is Korean, and her friend’s mother studied at culinary school with Chef Park Chan-il. My wife even learned how to make some of my favorite dishes, just for me. I’m so grateful.”

Song concluded with humor, saying, “Everyone who knows us says my wife is too good for me, and honestly, I agree.” He also admired her linguistic abilities, sharing, “She speaks British English but feels more comfortable in Italian. She also speaks Spanish and French fluently, thanks to her mother’s influence. I’m so jealous.”

Meanwhile, Song Joong-ki married British actress Katy Louise Saunders last year and registered their marriage. The couple welcomed their first child, a son, in June last year and recently celebrated the arrival of their second child, a daughter.

Song will soon be seen in the upcoming film 'Bogotá: Land of the Last Chance,' which premieres on December 31(KST). The movie tells the story of Guk-hee (played by Song Joong-ki), who travels to Bogotá, Colombia, in search of new hope after the IMF crisis. There, he becomes entangled with influential figures in the Korean community, including Soo-young (Lee Hee-jun) and Sergeant Park (Kwon Hae-hyo).
