The film 'Namib' features a fired star producer as the protagonist.
Speculation that the new movie 'Namib' is based on the life of former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, who oversaw the K-pop group NewJeans, has been circulating online, prompting director Kang Min-goo to address the rumors.

The press conference for 'Namib' took place on the 16th at D-Cube City in Sindorim, Seoul. Attending the event were director Kang, along with cast members Ryeoun, Yoon Sang-hyun, and Lee Jin-woo. Lead actress Go Hyun-jung was absent due to a sudden health issue.
'Namib' follows the journey of Kang Su-hyun (played by Go Hyun-jung), a star producer who is fired, and Yoo Jin-woo (played by Ryeoun), a long-term trainee who has been dropped. Together, they pursue their individual dreams against all odds.
Addressing the rumors, director Kang Min-goo explained, “I’m aware of the speculation, but this project was planned and produced well before those events occurred. I don’t give it much thought.”
He continued, “This work stands on its own. Those matters are unrelated, and we’ve been wholly focused on creating our own story.”
'Namib' is set to premiere on the 23rd at 10 PM.
