KG took to Instagram to announce her decision to terminate her contract with JYP
JYP Entertainment, home to the global girl group VCHA, is at the center of controversy as KG, an American member of the group, filed a lawsuit claiming abuse by company staff.

The agency has strongly denied the allegations, describing them as “false and exaggerated.”
On December 8, KG took to Instagram to announce her decision to terminate her contract with JYP and leave VCHA, citing abuse incidents involving certain staff members. She stated, “I made this decision back in May and am still waiting for my contract termination.”
KG also alleged that the restrictive working and living environment negatively impacted her mental health, adding that some members resorted to self-harm or extreme measures, intensifying the controversy.
On December 9, JYP’s U.S. subsidiary, JYP USA, released a statement explaining the situation:
“In May, KG left the group’s dorm and requested discussions through her legal representative. In response, we temporarily suspended VCHA’s activities and sought various solutions with KG’s representatives.”

The agency added, “However, KG’s side recently failed to respond to the ongoing discussions, leaving our representatives waiting for a reply. Despite this, KG unilaterally made false and exaggerated claims publicly and pursued legal action, which we deeply regret.”
JYP emphasized their commitment to protecting the remaining members of VCHA and the company itself:
“We will take all necessary measures to ensure that neither the members of VCHA nor our agency suffer any further harm from this matter.”
JYP’s U.S. division also released an official statement addressing the allegations and ongoing legal process, reiterating their stance against the claims made by KG.
This dispute has drawn significant attention from K-pop fans worldwide, as VCHA’s future activities remain uncertain amidst the controversy. Fans are now closely watching how this legal battle unfolds.
Dear All,
This is JYP USA.
We would like to address the recent lawsuit filed by Kiera Grace Madder (hereafter referred to as “KG”) and her public statements on social media.
In May of this year, KG left group residence and initiated discussions through her legal representatives. In response, we temporarily suspended VCHA’s planned activities and engaged in extensive discussions with KG’s representatives to explore potential resolutions. However, recently we have not received any response from KG’s representatives, leaving our legal representatives awaiting further communication.
We deeply regret KG’s decision to file a lawsuit and make unilateral public statements containing false and exaggerated claims. This action has caused significant harm to the other members of VCHA and JYP USA who have been working diligently on their upcoming album and projects for early 2025.
JYP USA will take all necessary measures to ensure that neither the other members of VCHA nor JYP USA suffer further harm as a result of this matter.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
JYP USA
