In the early hours of December 4, Lee took to Instagram to address global fans in English, shedding light on the situation and calming fears about the state of his country.

"The Republic of Korea can do well. The people of the Republic of Korea will finish the current martial law well in the right direction. The Republic of Korea is neither in a war situation nor in a chaotic situation. However, martial law was declared due to the problem of political confrontation, and the National Assembly voted to terminate martial law. The Republic of Korea is safe. I would like to say to all those who love the Republic of Korea around the world who are concerned about the Republic of Korea."

The sudden declaration of martial law by President Yoon Suk Yeol on December 3 had caused widespread concern. In an urgent national address, Yoon stated the move was necessary "to eradicate pro-North Korean forces and safeguard the liberal constitutional order."

However, by the early hours of December 4, the National Assembly convened an emergency session and unanimously passed a resolution demanding the termination of martial law, with 190 votes in favor. This included 18 lawmakers from the ruling party, traditionally aligned with pro-administration stances, and 172 opposition members.

Responding to the resolution, President Yoon addressed the nation again, announcing the end of martial law and the withdrawal of troops. "Following the National Assembly's request to lift martial law, I have ordered the troops involved to stand down. The government will formalize this through an immediate cabinet meeting," Yoon declared.

He also urged lawmakers to refrain from actions that disrupt the nation's governance. "I call on the National Assembly to cease the repeated abuse of impeachment, legislative obstruction, and budgetary sabotage that paralyzes the state's functionality."

Lee Sang-min's heartfelt message resonated with many, offering a sense of calm and unity as South Korea works to move past this unprecedented chapter in its modern history.
