'Light Shop' is an eight-episode series
Park Bo-young revealed a touching behind-the-scenes story: the one person who made it a point to call her every single day after filming was none other than Director Kim Hee-won.
The production press conference for Disney+ original series 'Light Shop' on December 3, held at the COEX Convention Center in Seoul, brought together a star-studded cast, including Ju Ji-hoon, Kim Seol-hyun, Um Tae-goo, and Lee Jung-eun, along with the creative team behind the series, including Director Kim Hee-won and Kang Full, the webtoon artist behind the original story.
Park Bo-young, who plays Yeong-ji, a nurse with a keen sense for the unfamiliar, shared how Director Kim's caring nature stood out to her. “Director Kim isn’t just thorough with the technical aspects of the shoot. He’s genuinely caring too. Every night after filming, he’d call to ask, ‘How was it today?, Are you okay?’ It really felt like he was looking out for us,” she recalled. “He would even try out movements himself on set to ensure we were comfortable, and if something felt off, he’d suggest adjusting the blocking. I was really impressed by how much thought he put into every detail.”
Her co-stars couldn’t help but chime in with their own playful comments. Ju Ji-hoon jokingly said, “I didn’t get a single call,” drawing laughter from the crowd, while Lee Jung-eun teased, “I think I was the one calling him instead,” further lightening the mood.
'Light Shop', an eight-episode series, premieres on December 4 with the first four episodes. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly.
