Distributor Plus M Entertainment announced on the 26th that the Korean remake Hear Me: Our Summer will officially premiere in Taiwan on December 6. The film, a remake of the Taiwanese original Hear Me, is drawing attention as the first Korean remake to debut in Taiwan, the birthplace of the original.

To celebrate its release, lead actress Noh Yoon-seo will meet Taiwanese audiences in person on December 7 and 8. Adding to the anticipation, the original Hear Me director Cheng Fen-fen and producer Cho Wen-ping have also expressed messages of support. Director Cheng stated, "Congratulations on the Korean release of Hear Me: Our Summer. I hope for its success in Taiwan as well." Producer Cho added, "I fully support the success of Hear Me: Our Summer, which combines artistic value with commercial appeal." These messages have ignited greater interest in the film's Taiwanese debut.

Hear Me: Our Summer has been a major success in South Korea since its release. It topped real-time pre-sale charts for four consecutive days ahead of its debut, signaling strong box office potential. The film garnered attention by surpassing competitors like Gladiator II and Three Days to claim the top spot in pre-sale rankings.

As of November 24, Hear Me: Our Summer had drawn 703,284 viewers, surpassing the 700,000 mark within just 19 days of release. By November 25, it had added 11,744 more viewers, bringing the total to 715,028. This rate is over twice as fast as the third-week total audience of Even If This Love Disappears Tonight, which stood at 338,652. With this achievement, Hear Me: Our Summer has become the fastest-growing hit since Veteran 2, showcasing strong potential for long-term success.

The film’s popularity has been driven largely by strong support from Generation Z. Viewer numbers remained steady during South Korea’s college entrance exam season, with audiences in their teens and twenties showing significant enthusiasm. In this context, Hear Me: Our Summer is cementing its status as a new standout in the "coming-of-age" genre.

Hear Me: Our Summer follows the story of Yong-jun (Hong Kyung), who is in pursuit of love; Yeoreum (Noh Yoon-seo), who comes to terms with her true feelings; and her supportive younger sister, Gaeul (Kim Min-ju). Feeling lost after graduating from college, Yong-jun takes a job delivering lunch boxes and meets Yeoreum, a hearing-impaired woman, instantly falling for her. As Yong-jun strives to get closer to Yeoreum, Gaeul’s friendship and encouragement bring a heartwarming element to the story. However, as Yeoreum begins to distance herself, unexpected twists unfold, heightening the emotional and dramatic tension.

This remake brings a unique charm, reimagining the original with the subtitle Our Summer to highlight its seasonal warmth. By centering the story around the sisters Yeoreum ("Summer") and Gaeul ("Autumn"), it combines refreshing energy with heartfelt emotion. These changes have been praised for offering audiences a fresh and moving experience.

Following its release in Taiwan, Hear Me: Our Summer is set to premiere in major Asian countries, including Hong Kong, Japan, and Macau, with confirmed releases in Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore.

Meanwhile, Hear Me: Our Summer is currently screening in theaters nationwide.
